The Vero Beach Choral Society announces its upcoming Christmas concert, “Rejoice," to be presented on Sunday, December 14 at 4:00 p.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. This festive program brings together timeless masterworks, distinguished local talent, and the spirit of the season in a beautiful and newly renovated sacred space. Admission is free of charge, with donations graciously accepted.
The Choral Society, under the direction of Dr. Jacob Craig, will present a program featuring Giuseppe Verdi’s Ave Mariafrom Quattro pezzi sacri, Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël. Together, these works create a moving tapestry of devotion, joy, and musical richness.
The concert will highlight soloists from within the ensemble, showcasing the depth of musicianship found throughout the choir. The ensemble is also pleased to feature Ryan Kasten at the organ, whose artistry brings color and dynamism to the program.
Opening the afternoon will be the FPC Youth Choir, directed by Peter Mahtani, performing “Gloria" by Randol Alan Bass. Their vibrant sound will set an uplifting tone for the concert and reflect the continued growth of youth music in the community.
The Vero Beach Choral Society warmly invites the public to join in this celebration of sacred music and the Christmas season. St. John of the Cross Catholic Church offers an acoustically rich and reverent setting for what promises to be a meaningful and inspiring musical experience.
