Hi, I’m Jackson Harbin and I am obsessed with all things food. Not only do I love cooking and baking at home, I enjoy eating out and meeting restaurant owners. Born and raised in Vero Beach, I think the area has some of the best restaurants in the state. I have critiqued food from a kid’s perspective for 4 years and I am excited to expand to The Treasure Coast Foodie.
I recently visited Cafe 66 with their famous ribs and coleslaw! We tried 3 different appetizers and desserts. This spot has both American and Southern specialties. The owners are very nice and helpful. Lets check out what I had to eat!
The Loaded Nachos: Pork with cheese, cheese sauce, jalapenos, and Pico salsa. Served with sour cream, homemade salsa Verde, and shredded lettuce. It was a very large portion, overflowing on the plate and fresh. Life is better with nachos.
Fried Okra: These delectable little okra nuggets hit the spot! Made with a light flour batter…seasoned just right and fried to perfection. Don’t forget to eat your veggies!
Fried Ribs: This appetizer had a nice smokiness and a perfect sauce-to-meat ratio. Barbeque is happiness!
Banana Pudding Pie (left): A flaky pie crust filled with creamy vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, and vanilla wafers, topped with whipped cream. Hands down my favorite!
Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Pie (right): A scrumptious combination of rich and creamy peanut butter filled with chocolate chips. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream, more chocolate chips, and golden cookie crumble.
Raspberry Donut Cheesecake (center): Creamy raspberry and donut-flavored cheesecake sits on a graham cracker crust, topped with raspberry filling, crumbled donuts, powdered sugar and whipped cream. Delicious!
Always save room for dessert!
