On February 27 at 7 pm, marine biologist Shanen Cox will share enchanting encounters with marine mammals as part of the Emerson Center E-Series lectures.
Ms. Cox has extensive marine mammal training and experience and is committed to fostering public awareness and care for the ocean and its diverse inhabitants through her work with institutions like NOAA and Harbor Branch.
About Shanen Cox
Ms. Shanen Cox, an experienced marine biologist with 14 years as a marine mammal trainer, brings a wealth of knowledge from diverse marine environments—Hawaii, California, and Florida. She's worked with a range of marine mammals, from dolphins and killer whales to seals, sea lions, otters, and penguins. Ms. Cox has held significant roles with NOAA as a marine mammal hormone scientist and as a stranding response team member. She's also contributed her expertise to Harbor Branch, serving on both the dolphin population assessment and marine mammal stranding response teams. Her unwavering passion centers on the ocean and its remarkable inhabitants. Ms. Cox derives great satisfaction from sharing her extensive knowledge and experiences with the public, in the hope of instilling a heightened sense of responsibility for the marine environment.

Vero Beach's premier performance venue, the Emerson Center, proudly presents its E-Series lectures—a series dedicated to topics that engage, educate, and entertain. The Emerson Center is located at 1590 27th Ave, Vero Beach, FL. Doors open 1 hour prior to the lecture, and while admission to the E-Series is free, The Emerson Center appreciates a suggested $10 donation.
