At 40 years old, the Vero Beach Orchid Society Show has grown and matured considerably over the years. From its humble beginnings in the 1970s, when a small group of seven people formed a club to discuss their love of orchids, to today’s annual event that attracts hundreds of people who attend for the same reason.
As the original club grew, so did interest in showing plants for judging and awards by the American Orchid Society. Thus began the Vero Beach Orchid Society Show, and it was the only orchid show held on the Treasure Coast from Melbourne to Jupiter at that time. What started as a small show in the Indian River Mall in Vero Beach has grown into a glorious weekend of stunning beauty under the iconic oaks at Riverside Park.
The theme for this year’s show—which is being held April 27 and 28—is “There's No Business Like Orchid Show Business.” Each year the event attracts new vendors and growers displaying and selling orchids from all over the world.
The Vero Beach Orchid Society welcomes anyone with an interest in orchids into it's membership regardless of level of expertise. Meetings are held at 7pm, on the 3rd Thursday of each month, except for May and December at the Garden Club of Indian River County, 2526 17th Ave, Vero Beach, Fl. 32960
