Goodbye Hurricane Season, Hello Theatre Season!


Sunrise Theatre

The beautifully restored theatre in the Sunrise City has a spectacular lineup this season including that cute critter on the cover! America’s most beloved animal expert, Jack Hanna, brings his three-time Emmy Award-winning television series INTO THE WILD LIVE! back to the Sunrise Theatre stage in January. In this live show, prepare to be fascinated as Jungle Jack takes you into the wild with a spectacular array of incredible animals. Fans of all ages will enjoy Jack’s stories, from brushing a hippo’s teeth to eating with wombats, and see footage of his worldwide adventures, from the jungles of Rwanda to the savannas of Australia. He inspires with his passion and dedication to wildlife conservation. Around 15 animals are presented during this incredible live experience. Sunrise opens its season this month with more than 30 performances booked through next spring including national touring shows, dance and ballet performances, musical headliners and rock & roll tributes. Vero Beach Theatre Guild

The Guild opened its 62nd season in July with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS which was a smashing success. But no worries if you missed it because VBTG has plenty of great entertainment planned for the rest of the season. November features Lerner & Loewe’s soaring musical CAMELOT followed in January by the Jones, Hope, Wooten comedy ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID. March 2020 will serve up a global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for over 40 years with JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. The season wraps up in May with MOONLIGHT & MAGNOLIAS - a hilarious and historically based look into the screenplay writing of “Gone with the Wind.” Back this year is an all new Apron Series lineup. “A Season with Arthur Miller” features three staged readings of Miller classics. The Crucible opens in October followed by A View from the Bridge in January and finally Death of a Salesman in April. Riverside Theatre

Riverside begins its 46th season in October with a musical journey through the 60’s with BEEHIVE followed in January by the tap-happy, tuneful THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. A tribute to American playwright Neil Simon follows with his Pulitzer Prize-winning play LOST IN YONKERS in February. Two very popular musical hits - the madcap LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and the romantic thriller THE BODY GUARD - conclude the season on the Stark Stage while two comedic plays fill the Waxlax Stage season - the uproarious THE 39 STEPS in January and very funny BAKERSFIELD MIST in March. As always, Riverside Theatre also has their “Live in the Loop” free themed concert series on the weekends followed by COMEDY ZONE and HOWL AT THE MOON EXPERIENCE dueling pianos show. Theatre-Go-Round

The Treasure Coast’s only live dinner theatre opened this past summer at Vero’s premier hotel, Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa with the wildly successful THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC- THE BEST OF ABBA and performances will continue through the end of November. TGR performers Beth McKenzie-Shestak, Greg Harris, Caitlin Harris and Brendan Wenger bring it with precision and perfect harmonies to sold out crowds and standing ovations at every performance. In December the talented singing group, led by Jon Putzke, will perform a limited engagement of CHAMPAGNE & CANDY CANES, a Theatre-Go-Round holiday classic. Vero Beach Opera

The opera will open its 2020 season in January with Rossini's THE BARBER OF SEVILLE. Bribery, deception and disguise abound as the mischievous Figaro helps Count Almaviva win his true love in this full production featuring four Metropolitan Opera Artists! In February enjoy selections from “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Misérables,” opera favorites and more with BEST OF BROADWAY AND OPERA CONCERT. March offers four days of the RISING STARS OPERA FESTIVAL where young singers participate in a Master Class, and then compete for top prizes in a vocal competition in concert. Vero Beach Performing Arts

The talented students of Vero Beach High School open their season with the classic drama THE OUTSIDERS in October followed by the 38TH ANNUAL CROWN JEWEL MARCHING BAND FESTIVAL. AN ORCHESTRAL SPOOKTACULAR features the VBHS Orchestras is a family-friendly evening of serious and not-so-serious eerie music. SOUNDS OF THE CITRUS BOWL wows with the talent of the Symphonic and Jazz Bands along with the Fighting Indians Marching Band. In November, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD features a moving collection of powerful songs from Tony Award Winner, Jason Robert Brown. WINTER WONDERLAND is an annual holiday favorite featuring all the award-winning musical talent at VBHS.
