This weekend is the perfect time to forget your worries and go have some fun at Riverside Theatre. Finally, some civil weather has arrived, and evenings will be perfect to “laugh and groove” at Riverside’s Live in the Loop and Comedy Zone events. On Friday, the Joe Tenuto Band will rock the loop starting at 5:30 with authentic Blues and originals that will get your toes a tapping. On Saturday check out King’s Highway, the South Florida based Rack and Party band covering classics from the 60’s through the 90’s as well as todays biggest dance hits.
The Comedy Zone Experience features two performers to tickle your funny bone. Headliner LA HARDY is a versatile and veteran performer described by some as the “Black Dr. Phil” due to his REAL observations and no holds barred style. His content is described as mature but if you’ve been somewhere, if you’ve done something in life, if you’re trying to accomplish something and you’ve been through some trials and lost some things, you’ll relate to what he is talking about. He has the ability to make you laugh and reflect while continually entertaining. Storytelling and social commentary on everyday life situations make this “LA” comic a favorite everywhere he goes.
Opening act TRAVIS HOWZE was a former U.S. Marine, Police Officer and Firefighter and has protected America's citizens for over 14 years, and now he's making fun of them! Whether dodging bullets, chasing bad guys or running into burning buildings Travis is always FUNNY UNDER FIRE! In his twisted mind, no topics are off-limits. His motto is simple, "If you are able to laugh at someone else's misfortunes, then you had better be able to laugh at your own!" Voted The Funniest Person in Charleston, South Carolina and Stand Up Comedy's Mouth of The South in 2009, Travis has performed in some of the country’s most diverse comedy clubs to include New York's Gotham Comedy Club, The Improv and Atlanta's Uptown Comedy Corner.
Riverside Theatre is now offering new earlier showtimes for the Comedy Zone Experience, now 7PM and 9PM and all seats are $18. Capacity is limited for both Live in the Loop and Comedy Zone so advanced reservations and ticket purchases are required. Riverside Theatre is following all CDC guidelines in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Food and drinks are being served and for those wishing to attend the outdoor concerts, entry is free with a downloadable pass here.
