
VBMA is delighted to welcome back Mike Telesmanick, accomplished pianist, singer, and composer to our Concerts in the Park stage after a riveting performance last year. His traditional jazz trio will feature upright bassist and guitarist Robert Burns, drummer Paul Cywinski, and the band will be joined by special guest artist, the mesmerizing jazz/pop vocalist, Nolia Blue.
This is a musical performance not to be missed! Mike heralds out of Boston and Los Angeles and is a graduate cum laude of the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was presented with his Jazz Performance and Composition degree from legendary composer, John Williams and drummer, Buddy Rich. He has performed all over the U.S. and abroad with some of the greatest jazz names in the business, and has played with myriad Grammy award-winning artists of all musical genres. His extensive Bio is impressive and long. Mike connects with his audience with a warm, sincere demeanor and focused, inspired playing.
This year, expect to hear more of Mike’s original compositions, in concert with classic be-bop arrangements echoing the styles of Bill Evans, Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson, Red Garland, and Thelonious Monk, as well as jazz interpretations of contemporary greats, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and McCoy Tyner. He will also play vocal tribute to American Songbook favorites, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.
